Just in…a nice little testimonial from a client of Linx…

I had a great experience with Linx & Amy. She listened to me very well in the interview, & within a year, she had 2 good matches for me. The first one in September; the second one in June. One match was so close that we dated for a year, & we have remained wonderful friends.I have recommended my friends to her. Match-making is not a science; it’s not a sure thing to find a match. But the odds are better than other services where there is no screening (other than by yourself) or going out to advertised “singles” events. Her pricing is steep but life is like that at times.

This week has been super crazy busy at work especially with the mention in the Sunday style section of The New York Times. Lots of great inquires from all over have been landing in my inbox. I’ve received so many emails from prospects- especially really young movers and shakers in tech (think FB, Twitter, Palantir, Box) and a lot of folks in the VC and angel investment community as well. From San Francisco, to San Jose, Atherton, to Manhattan, and Newport Beach. Funny how the NYT mentioned LinkedIn as a resource for me scouting talent. I haven’t logged into my LinkedIn profile in probably twelve years. No offense Mr. Jeff Weiner. wink wink.

I‘ve seen a funny trend in the past two weeks with multiple couples coupling up who share the same name. For instance three male clients named Mark who were matched to three totally different girls named Sally and now each new couple reports back that they are going exclusive. Mark + Sally couple #1, Mark + Sally couple #2, and Mark + Sally couple #3. I haven’t seen that one ever actually. Had some great meetings today with clients and prospects and the rest of the week is about matchmaking, client calls, and some fun work related projects. That’s all for now.

His comment: Actually this is reversed. In the honeymoon stage, people are all peaches and cream. Once they are hooked, then they revert to being themselves.

Hopper’s brilliant work goes far beyond a portrait of a couple on their porch one summer evening. It is really left to your interpretation. As Hoppper himself is famous for saying, “the whole answer is there on the canvas.”

Maybe the man in this painting been cheap in money and spirit…thus she feels isolated and regretful. Perhaps to my earlier Tweet he overlooked certain behaviors of hers as they were once in the honeymoon stage but now their relationship feels too deep to reverse.

When I look at Summer Evening, I feel tension, something quiet, pensive, somber, dark, maybe some boredom. Some have interpreted this painting as a break-up. Oh we don’t like that topic here at Linx. ;( On that note….

Here is a brilliant interpretation made as animated film and directed by Valérie Pirson. This movie was commissioned for an Edward Hopper retrospective at Grand Palais in Paris. Enjoy…

I guess I didn’t picture myself putting my bio out here like this. It feels vulnerable, a little daring, and exposed. Maybe you agree?

A little bit about me. I grew up in New Orleans, and have a super close relationship to my family. Love my adorable nieces, and look up to my parents who have been married for over 45 years with respect and admiration.

Education, integrity, and tenacity, are all mantras in my life. I’m an executive by day and work really hard, but also play hard. I love anything creative and artistic — in fact, I enjoy writing, and have a best-selling book in circulation. I also enjoy photography, and going on photo tours of incredible places. I’m definitely looking for a career driven match, who understands I work a lot, and has her own life, and gets tremendous satisfaction from her awesome job doing whatever you do! My faith is a core tenant in my life. I’m culturally Jewish (more so than the pure religion) and ultimately desire finding a Jewish match as well. Fun Celebrity Matches by Linx!

TheNest.com (the sister site to The Knot for newlyweds) approached me to come up with the best matches for some of Hollywood’s hottest single celebs like Johnny Depp, Rihanna, etc. They choose a couple of my matches for the story on TheNest.com and the rest I thought I would put up here so you can read about some of my fun celeb match ideas and why!

Jessica Chastain

Although Chastain has said in the past that she doesn’t date actors, that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t. I chose Aaron Eckhart, who, like Chastain, seems more into his craft than fame and has proven his talent in indies like Thank You for Smoking and blockbusters like Batman, could be the exception to the red-headed starlet’s rule. Jessica is an actress of great depths and attended Juilliard, so I think Eckhart would make a strong match for her. With an old soul like Chastain, the age gap works in Eckhart’s favor, too (she’s 36 and he’s 45). Fun fact, they’re both Bay Area, CA natives (her Sacramento and him Cupertino). Pretty picture perfect next to one another too don’t you think?

Ryan Seacrest

Although Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest’s breakup seemed to catch even the love pros by surprise, I think Hollywood’s hardest working man needs someone a little older. Julianne Hough is 24 years old and Ryan is 38 years old. I would match him with January Jones, who’s 35, blond (which he seems to go for) and seems very classy. Come to think of it, Jones and Hough kind of look like they could be related…perhaps a good evolution in his dating.

Prince Harry

He needs someone who completely understands his royal obligations, is extremely poised, classy, and with an impeccable track record. She needs to have strong family values and be someone to shape Prince Harry into the marrying type versus the party boy image. A great match would be Charlotte Casiraghi who is 26 years old. This beauty is fourth in line to the throne of Monaco. Her maternal grandparents were Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and Grace Kelly. She also is the official equestrian “ambassador” of Gucci. Prince Harry and Charlotte would not only share the similar royal family background, be close in age, but also a lovely common passion of all things equestrian.

Katie Holmes

Katie needs to step out of the Hollywood scene for dating and date a strong leading man who is not only deep and intellectual but very cute (and frankly a better age compared to her ex Tom). Uber entrepreneur extraordinaire Jack Dorsey founder of Twitter and Square would make a great match for Katie. They both seem approachable and what is so nice is that there would always be tons to talk about considering they are in completely different industries. They’re also a good age- she’s 34 and he’s 36. She already has the child and most likely he would appreciate that biological pressure being removed so they can really enjoy getting to know one another. Certainly if they did have children together, their babies would be gorgeous and smart to boot!

Love is in the Air

I am off to the airport for a business trip till Friday and look forward to meeting a very successful and eligible gentleman over lunch tomorrow. It’s top secret right now and will remain rather hush hush. It’s to explore potentially working together and seeing if he likes the Linx approach and what we could offer him. I’m super excited!

This week has been extremely busy per usual. I just wrapped a great date coaching session with a bright and eager young woman. We chatted about artfully preparing for dates and subjects she can discuss with ease and passion. She’s super fascinating- very smart, super well rounded, and very warmhearted. We interviewed a family centric, kind, and super smart 32 year old female yesterday. She splits her time between Manhattan and the Bay Area. Really impressive.

This week the emails have continued to pour in at an astonishing rate. I get hundreds of inquiries day for matchmaking and keeping up with the deluge of requests is a new and fun challenge. The casting we are having in June for females who have submitted information to meet the male VIPs is officially sold out and the casting we are hosting July 11th and 12th is booking up quick.
