Three Great San Francisco Fall Events Not To Miss

The City by the Bay is such a unique location where there are no shortage of events- especially this Fall. It’s a great time to put some of these events on your social calendar and grab your best pals to have fun with. Your friends can also serve as wing-women or wing-men while out and about. Increase your odds of meeting like-minded people this season by getting out there and not sitting home. Alternatively, for couples, step out of the routine dinner date and shake up the fun together doing these day events.

Here are some of the events we recommend in San Francisco:

Incredible San Francisco Pied-a-Terre Preview (not on market yet)

I had an opportunity to take an exclusive preview of a fabulous Russian Hill penthouse this week. This incredible condo has panoramic world class views from Pacific Heights through the Golden Gate that are simply stunning! 2423 Larkin St.-42

The right buyer is someone who is looking for a weekend pied-a-terre or primary residence for a single or couple. Located on Larkin Street, you can walk to Polk or Hyde Street for fine dining and socializing. scott pic

It has two-bedrooms, three baths (all with marble floors and showers), and with parking for one car (plus storage). The condo encompasses the entire top floor of a quiet boutique building. Other highlights include hardwood flooring, recessed lighting, double pane windows and in-unit laundry. night 2423 Larkin St.-392423 Larkin St.-8

Recruiting Silicon Valley Guys!

JP Mangalindan of Fortune Magazine wrote about Linx stating, “she’s fashioned a reputation among tech executives, entrepreneurs, investors, and publicists as a modern-day Silicon Valley yenta. Her 750 “active” clients — individuals who have signed up just within the last two years — include employees of companies such as Apple (AAPL), Facebook (FB), Google (GOOG), Amazon (AMZN), Oracle (ORCL), Salesforce (CRM) and run from early twenty-something entrepreneurs to retired tech execs and investors in their sixties.”

We love our young Linx members who are at FB and GOOG – so many of them are insanely bright, eager, and humble. A trend this week has been the large number of females from FB writing to me – a common theme seems to be that they work a ton and refuse to muddy the waters by dating colleagues at work. I think a lot of AAPL, AMZN, and LinkedIn GUYS have exactly the same mentality but are less likely to hit “SEND” and enlist the help of a matchmaker… Not sure if this is shyness, shame, or simply lack of awareness that something like Linx is literally exactly what could help and is not one of those artificial airline magazine stereotype dating services.

If you know anyone who could benefit from Linx at one of these companies out there in Silicon Valley email me. We’ve been hitting some campuses this week recruiting talent and saying hi to clients in between. We love spreading awareness about connecting Silicon Valley men and women to the right type of match through our thoughtful vetting and methodology of “science” meets “art.” San Jose-20130722-01319 In between meetings and recruiting at GOOG this week…glazed, plain, sprinkles, no sprinkles…variety is the spice of life.

Weddding bells are in the distance here at Linx. We have a beautiful couple tying the knot this weekend. A perfecting matched very happy couple who I am just on cloud 9 for. Both mid 30’s, Ivy League educated, and so evenly matched on all fronts. Grinning ear to ear here thinking about them. More later….

Valentine’s Date Scenario II: Adventurous and Quirky

hope you enjoyed the outfits our friends at Tog + Porter put together for my ‘Over the Moon For You’ date.  This next date I gave them is for a very different couple, dating scenario and relationship status. This young couple is on their second date, so while booking a date on Valentine’s definitely indicates a strong mutual interest, it’s best they keep things light and fun. Adventurous_Quirky

He takes his match to the House of Air trampoline park in San Francisco for some jumping around for this Valentine’s Day. Her hearts aflutter with the date invitation, but what does a girl wear for something so sporty and active? He suggests cocktails and sushi in Cow Hollow to follow. She wants to be perceived as low maintenance and wants the transition from bouncing around at the park into dinner date to be smooth sailing.

They are in the early stages of dating, so she isn’t at the comfort level of fully being herself and “requiring” 20 minutes to freshen up back at his pad post park romp. She knows he will probably be in a freshly washed hoodie and jeans but doesn’t want to dress like a nerd too. One drink leads to two, two to three and tummies full with delicious sushi.

She makes a bold move inviting him to her home for date three to cook together. She’s never been one to “ask a guy out” but it’s 2013 and for her, there are no “rules.” He accepts and leans over for a kiss! She loves how quirky he is and he loves how confident she is. He tells her he thinks her outfit is super cute and was impressed how low maintenance she is compared to other girls. She nods and grins.

Before they can help find the perfect outfit for this young lady, the stylists at Tog + Porter said they would need a little more info about her. They wanted answers to all the questions they’d ask in one of their face-to-face Skype style consults. What’s a normal day look like for her? What’s her budget? Style goals? Of course, I would know all of this about any of my clients, so I rattled off a plausible profile.

She’s in marketing by day and typically opts for casual skirts, trousers and day dresses. Her budget is more J Crew than Neiman Marcus and up to this point, she has relied on her mom to take her out shopping for a lot of her wardrobe since her salary is rather modest.

Her date is a super lax “Silicon Valley geek” coder type who opts for Zuck-like hoodies, jeans, and flip flops pretty much every time she has ever seen him. He’s cute but she never thought she’d be so into a guy so laid back in his style. She needs to look cute yet super comfortable doing her lemon drops and channeling her ‘perfect 10′ Nadia Comaneci moves.Adventurous_Quirky_Option 1

Flying high doesn’t mean you have to leave cute and flirtatious at home. We love the feminine fit and flare of this adorable peplum jersey top paired with easy and memorable red straight leg pants and notice-me shoes. Since we know this client is budget conscience, we’ve broken down the total cost of the look: Peplum Top: $59, Maria Pants: $98, Sam Edelman Flats: $105, Bijouterie Bracelet: $25, BCBG Handbag: $98. Total cost: $385.

This second look is more relaxed in an effortlessly sexy kind of way. It’s based around an off-the-shoulder tunic sweater in a breathtaking hue paired with dark skinnies and an easy on and off bootie, topped off with a touch of glam. Wearing a tank or cami underneath is a good idea, just in case you break a sweat doing toe-touches. And even if the tunic never comes off, a peek of lace never hurts.Adventurous_Quirky_Option2

Again, they’ve broken down the cost of each item like they would in any T+P shipment: Wide Neck Tunic Sweater: $79, Multi Stone Necklace: $39, Paige Skyline Straight Skinnies: $169, Lace Cami $23, Dolce Vita Ankle boot: $159. Total Cost: $469.

Like what you see? Let the stylists at Tog + Porter help you look your best for any occasion. If you want help with your Valentine’s Day outfit, be sure and sign up ASAP as time is running out. Similarly, if you are a guy who wants to totally outsource your dating, ping me. I’m happy to be your romantic concierge

Perfect Date Night Dress for Sale!

Ladies, I purchased a never worn Shosanna dress from Gilt.com about a year ago. I was super excited to receive it yet when I put it on, I couldn’t zip it up.

I am between a 4-6 dress size and 5’7″. This particular dress says it is a size 6 but in reality it is more like a 2-4. It is ideal for someone with a very small upper torso, frame, small breasts, and no hips. It is from top to bottom around 35.5 inches long.

I never returned it because I forgot and it has been sitting in my closet never worn, tags on, and screaming out for someone to please wear it already!  The photos don’t do it justice as the black fabric has this nice sheen to it and is a very high quality material. What I love about the cream part is that it is made to look like it is a separate top tucked in but it’s all the same piece.

This little black and cream Shosanna is ideal for day into date night. You could easily pair it with a nice blazer and nude pumps for work and then shimmy your way into date night sans blazer and colorful pashmina and fab accessories. Primary colors would look great with it or something as classic as a strand of pearls and little studs.

Please email me if you are interested in this dress. Bidding starts now, starting price $50. amy@linxdating.com

I am happy to ship to you for an additional $10.00. No returns.
