Announcing our newest Bay Area bachelor… He’s 39, tall, fit, successful, philanthropic, and so much more…

We are thrilled to announce a new search for a Bay Area based client. Our bachelor is an intellectually curious, philanthropically inclined 39-year old with a passion for cycling and Bay Area outdoor living. He’s 6’1″, with a lean, fit musculature, full head of salt and pepper hair, piercing blue eyes, and well-groomed facial hair.

He grew up on the East Coast and came to California for grad school, and his sense of style is understated but refined, reflecting his affinity for both coasts.

As a successful technical consultant to an established client base of energy and logistics companies, he works with a small team to develop algorithms and analytics to improve operational efficiency.  This candidate has an undergraduate degree in philosophy from the University of Chicago, a masters from a top tier university, and a PhD in engineering from Berkeley.

Work-life balance is tremendously important to him, and he makes plenty of time for his hobbies. He’s currently reading Kazuo Ishiguro’s recent novel Klara and the Sun, and Patrick Sharkey’s study of the moral complexities of violence and policing, An Uneasy Peace. He also enjoys movies, cooking for friends, hiking, running, swimming, and road cycling, to name a few.

With his flexible job, he’s been known to work remotely while pursuing outdoor adventures from the Caribbean or the Mediterranean, or just spending a few weeks with his family on the East Coast. This could also give him the ability to date outside the Bay Area, for the right woman.

Post-pandemic, he’s excited to get back out and enjoy cultural offerings, whether it’s at the museum of modern art, the symphony hall, or an indie music show at the Fox Theater. He actively supports charities that work in global poverty and disease, Covid relief, animal welfare, and more.

These days he’s getting involved with an Oakland charity that prevents violence by intervening in moments of crisis. He is politically moderate and is open to matches of any political persuasion that does not divide the world into good and bad people.

A few years ago our bachelor turned to meditation and therapy to reach a new level of self-awareness and elevate himself as a human being. He finds that it has helped him a ton not only knowing more about himself, but to be open to other people’s values and experience, and to communicate effectively with honesty and emotion. That’s the aspiration, anyway — he will always be a work in progress and is excited to meet someone with a self-awareness about herself and others as well.

Our client is looking for a woman in her early 30s or late 20s who is intelligent, thoughtful, athletic, and motivated by growth, learning, and enjoyment, rather than by status and material things. He’s ready to enjoy the good life with that special someone and hopes to build a strong partnership, marriage, and family one day.  🙂

If you feel you or someone you know could be a wonderful fit for this darling guy, please email Amy at: amy@linxdating.com and as always, no fees for qualifying candidates.

What Guys are Saying about Linx….

“You are a total world-class pro!”- 50-something CEO of tier one finance firm

“Amy is probably the best matchmaker in Silicon Valley and has had some great success, while she didn’t match my wife and I, I was working with her and the dates that she sent me on were closer to the mark than most I did on my own and really helped me define what I wanted.

Amy is very good at helping you set your expectations properly and to really figure out what you need to improve about yourself to attract the type of person you want. This is key because if you want the caliber of person you desire, you need to work on you first.

Amy is very well connected in Silicon Valley and has a large pool of connections to make that introduction happen. I have sent several of my friends her way, and if you want that personal hands on approach, Amy is the type of person that will help you find the most important person in your life.”- 30 something entrepreneur in tech

“Finding the love of your life can seem like an endless search, with ups and downs. The Linx process was professional, detailed, considerate, and very enjoyable. It was the third match that worked like a charm- where chemistry was firing in all directions.

I ended up proposing to my beautiful soul mate and we are so excited to get married! Amy even helped with my proposal planning making it seamless and thoughtful at Cavallo Point in Marin. We are so blessed to have been matched and wouldn’t have ever met if it was not for this unique dating network. For anyone who wants to be introduced to quality, genuine men and women all of whom have been carefully vetted by Amy, this is an excellent alternative to online dating and dating apps!”- 50 something in healthcare

“For a person generally recognized as the Silicon Valley matchmaker, Amy’s approach is decidedly traditional. At first glance, you might wonder if this difference is what enables Amy to succeed where online dating and other matchmaking services have failed. After working with Amy, though, it becomes apparent that her approach is a natural outcome of what truly makes her great–her drive to invest time and energy in each and every client she takes on. Amy’s intelligence and creativity allow her to translate this passion into tangible results regardless of what an individual client’s needs may be. My only regret in working with Amy is that I didn’t start sooner!

…Amy would be the first to tell you that her service is best used as a supplement to rather than a replacement for online dating; and if you’re shocked that a service provider spends more time on clients that pay more, you might have a different understanding of business than I do.”- 30 something in technology

Where Are The Men in Silicon Valley?

Linx is featured in this month’s Town & Country annual Top 50 Bachelor’s issue. Ladies, grab a copy today to check out T & C’s list of the most desirable bachelors hitting the singles scene. These guys range from: Sergey Brin, Aaron Levie, and Uber’s Travis Kalanick to name a few. -1

Linx was asked to name some of my picks of where the techie bachelors go when not working and the toys they like to spend hard earned dollars on. In summary, ladies head to BJ’s in Cupertino on a Thursday for happy hour.

BJ’s is very casual and is a chain restaurant- think nachos, beer on tap, big screens, and a lot of guys! This is across the street from Apple’s campus and is swarming with techies in black turtlenecks with iPhone in hand and beer in another. Now please don’t mistake BJ’s for the next Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel swanky scene. It is anything but upscale! 😉

Ladies, dress casually yet chic and don’t forget a ponytail if your hair is long enough. As I told Emily Holt in T & C, guys love ponytails- especially the techies! Remember they tell me everything!

What’s Happening in Silicon Valley?

Are you watching HBO’s “Silicon Valley”- last night was the second episode. It’s comical and entertaining into the lives of Silicon Valley entrepreneurs trying to build the next big thing! According to journalist Evelyn M. Rusli with the Wall Street Journal, it is not exactly accurate in terms of how fundraising in Silicon Valley really works though. marriage_proposal

We’ve been so inundated here at Linx lately and there is SO much excitement. I JUST got news of another Linx engagement today…..I am seriously on cloud 9 for them. He proposed 9 months after their very first Linx date! Yeay! Yeay!

I also got word of another couple having a baby together….from a match that was made years ago. There were break-ups involved and now they are seriously back together, happy as clams, and with a baby on the way soon! That’s life for you. It’s uncertain, crazy at times, completely exciting, and fun. Bartender with group at bar

We have a lot of great new clients in the network and it keeps growing by the day. We are in the midst of planning a summer Link & Drink….I know….can you believe it? The demand is huge for the next event. It has been 2.5 years since an actual Linx soiree and this one is going to be huge, fabulous, and THE summer event of the season. Stay tuned.

We are also gearing up for a massive VIP search for one phenomenal Silicon Valley bachelor client of ours. He’s young, he’s a CEO, good looking, and ready for marriage and babies. Bay Area ladies, stay tuned for major updates about this exciting opportunity we will be announcing soon.

On a different note, a lot of people ask me for “the” places to check out in the Valley.

I am contacted by media pretty much weekly to ask me about the Rosewood Sand Hill hotel. My honest opinion is that it still has cache and its best asset is the real estate. On a warm summer night, I will say it is a ton of fun to go there with a carefree attitude and mingle on the deck with a diverse group of men and women of all ages, backgrounds and, of course, agendas! 😉 Thursday nights have shifted a bit. I have gone there and the older female crowd is definitely on the prowl, yet other Thursdays are younger women and older men. Certainly some young techies do go there to see “who” is there and sometimes they rub elbows with an older mature woman. Many younger women go there on the hunt for their future husbands as well.

Why go there? Well, I think the actual restaurant is excellent for “power breakfasts”- VCs, entrepreneurs unite to talk deals and enjoy a beautiful setting for a 60 min breakfast at the hotel. Has a sort of New York feel to it in the sense of being time efficient and a place to bang out ideas/deals over eggs and French pressed coffee. It is very popular for this. Dinners- my personal opinion is the food is lacking for a Michelin star, the prices are way too high, appetizers better than the entrees. Wine list $$$ and worth it? Mixed feelings. So go their for summer cocktails al fresco, power breakfasts to ink a business deal…..

And what about other trendy spots to check out in Silicon Valley? Lure + Till is brand new. I think it is a hot spot for cocktails, fun appetizers, and a trendy afterwork scene that draws a younger crowd. The dinner menu is pretty limited, the service needs some work. A lot of techies go there, so be prepared for a more casual crowd, hoodies and all!

Reposado is definitely a happening spot- packed every night for dinner and the bar scene is hopping. We are very excited for Delfina opening soon…w2

Let’s not forget about The Four Seasons Palo Alto. It certainly is considered on the “wrong” side of Palo Alto but eclipses the Rosewood in terms of service and I think quality and sophistication of food. The bar scene is great and I’d really like to see a sort of renaissance happen by getting more people there, who remember what a quality experience the Four Seasons is, and how they really bend over backwards to make your experience 5 star (plus)- whether you are enjoying a wonderful glass of wine on a date and their fabulous pizzas or higher-end inside Quattro with an exceptional menu and service.

This Week in Perspective

It’s been extremely busy at Linx HQ. I am still blown away that January is officially over. Have you noticed how some people still have Christmas trees in their windows and lights still decorating their homes? Did they not get the memo that the holidays are over? Hilarious. There is a home in my neighborhood that is still all lit up at night…right out of National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

This past week was filled with tons of client meetings over breakfast at the Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel, coffee in SOMA, and in the privacy of our historic offices. We admitted new members this week…a quick snapshot includes a handsome 32-year old 6’0″ guy who is passionate about surfing in his free time, a witty 33-year old male with a devilish smile and wildly impressive career (who has been a vegetarian his whole life), and a 50-something real estate professional who loves travel, his kids, and Bay Area living. We also had a lovely visit with a young mid 20’s MD female member who was so sweet to bring us the most decadent homemade cupcakes (flourless chocolate w sea salt and carmel and a coconut tropical unbelievably fabulous concoction!) As you can see we hated them. 😉 vscocam1571

We spent a few hours conducting an in-home closet consultation for a vibrant, mature, and gorgeous 24-year old female. She hired us to edit her wardrobe, help her create looks (looks for work, work into dates, weekend wear, dressy styles etc). The great thing is that our client already has such an impressive wardrobe and everything she pretty much needs…it was just a matter of figuring out what works with what and helping her streamline things. Also her request and wish was to get her wearing color…not so much black all the time.

In working with our client, we also removed items that she has had since high school (yes high school..including her old prom dress…ok ok, she is only 24 years young!) and will be donating four huge garbage bags to Goodwill as a result. We put tons of looks together she already had in her closet (black 7 skinny jeans, silk Joie tank, paired with a tight Vince leather jacket zipped up accentuating her TINY waist and model physique, punchy colorful pashmina, black patent leather Louboutin pumps, and a great tote to top off her modern and very versatile look (so easy to transition from day to night). She was so impressed by our hard work, she’s hired us to come back this coming week for more wardrobe work.Christian-Louboutin-Pigalle The famous, highly coveted red CL soles…

My assistant (who is a very skilled photographer among many of her talents) has been snapping pics of our client in her various ensembles and will be creating a beautiful look book to keep in her boudoir for when getting ready. VINCE-WO127_V1 Vince leather jacket on a model

It’s been busy with creative projects as well….speaking to lots of media folks from all around the globe…including entertaining folks up from LA and showing them the Silicon Valley life. Beyond this, lots of matchmaking and presenting clients with our match ideas. This week alone we’ve done a ton of really good matches and are excited to hear how those first dates go. I’ve learned so much from my clients this past month- fascinating trends we are seeing in Silicon Valley and lots of interesting stories.

Here’s to an exciting February ahead for everyone. Stay focused on your New Years resolutions and don’t start slipping now. I have just completed my annual health “cleanse” I do every Jan for 31 days (major cardio, super green diet, no diary, no bad carbs, no alcohol) and I feel GREAT. Even though I am looking forward to a glass of wine (or two!) tonight with friends in San Francisco, I am making sure to set strict rules for myself to stay focused and very disciplined as I enter February. Healthy living is a LIFESTYLE and in order to be at my best in my life, I know I have to do certain things (sufficient sleep, lot of good clean eating, restricting my so called vices (e.g, drinking ,sugar, cheese) working out with my trainer multiple times a week, and taking time off from the daily grind to reset).

If you want more information about my cleanse ping me. This is my 7th year doing it…and I’m hooked! I’m not the only one either- when I interviewed a young CEO on Thursday, he is doing a 90 day cleanse. He said he sleeps better, has total mental clarity, is happier, and much more balanced.

Fun and funky old school workout song for you to load onto the trusty ipod.

Link & Drinks | Seamless Networking with Silicon Valley’s Who’s Who

On a daily basis, I am asked about our ever popular “Link & Drink” networking events and when the next one is. Can you believe we have not hosted a Link & Drink in over TWO years? The reasoning is varied but the main reason is we have been so slammed with demands coming from our matchmaking and that it is left us very little room to conceptualize another fabulous soiree.

We are trend setters who have paved the way for the scene in the Silicon Valley. We don’t do things lightly at Linx and when we do another event, it will be really spectacular drawing a crowd of who’s who in the Silicon Valley and beyond. We are planning something special for May of this year.

We also will now be restricting the guest lists to invite-only and remaining firm about that. We want guests at Link & Drink to be able to add value through their respective industries, be thought leaders, and make a positive impact socially.

I am often asked if the Link & Drinks are speed date-sorts of events. The answer is definitely not! The way Link & Drinks are structured is that the main theme is professional networking yet the underlying concept is that many guests happen to be on the market and searching for the love of their life. The pressure is off at Link & Drinks and the atmosphere is super friendly with connections being made right and left. events

One of the notable facts about Link & Drinks is that people really do connect. We have had entrepreneurs link up with angel investors for seed deals, CEOs from competitive firms shake hands cordially, Stanford MBA students land interviews, new friendships born, old friends reunite, and of course love connections happen. In fact, engagements and marriages have come out of our Link & Drinks.

If you would like to be considered a guest for our upcoming invite only Link & Drink in May 2014 (exact date TBD) please send me an email at amy@linxdating.com and tell me a bit about your professional background, age, and how you could add value to our VIP mixer.

This Week in Perspective

A quick blog entry here…hope everyone is looking forward to a fun fall weekend ahead. We had an exceptionally busy week meeting with many new clients and prospects of Linx- even got to visit a lovely and very impressive prospective client at her Silicon Valley home to ensure 100% privacy. Lots of matchmaking this week and meeting with VIPs to discuss their projects in the works. Tonight a stellar Linx client has invited my husband, sister, and even pooch Marshall (woof woof!) over for a cooking lesson dinner party. I am so excited to see him in his element and on top of that getting to splurge on his yummy homemade pastas (yes ladies…he told me he is making the pasta from scratch, I know!) and will show us how to make 4 rustic Italian pasta sauces. He keeps saying everything is very easy to make. Tonight I need to witness this firsthand and see if these insanely good sauces are THAT easy or easy for him but not for us!

Last night I checked out The Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel to survey the scene with a girlfriend after a visit to the Hockney opening at the De Young. It was a fun girls night and good quality time together. The infamous Thursday night scene was definitely different. Ladies, it was literally ALL men.San Jose-20130825-00065 I saw this on my satellite radio one day and had to laugh. Although I find that word derogatory used in context of the ever-popular Rosewood nights, I couldn’t help but smile.

The bar was packed with dudes having drinks and they sort of seemed very happy just talking to one another. The deck was very crowded as well with around a 10 to 1 ratio of men to women. I asked the bartender “what was up” and he said he has witnessed a shift in the Thursday night scene. When I looked around more, it really looked like a lot of very cute, preppy MBA and law school Stanford boys in their nicely pressed chinos, dress shirts, and Ferragamos. Sort of like an East Coast group of guys in the mid 20’s to mid 40’s age range. A pic I snapped from last night- told you…ALL guys! San Mateo-20131024-00488

One former lovely client who is getting married soon sent me a couple of nice quotes from her Linx experience. “There are myriad dating books, advice columns and best friends out there, all offering “helpful” suggestions. However, the best advice I ever received – and still hold dear to my heart – was from Amy. It was her words that lead me to the man I am going to marry and I pass on her wisdom to others regularly. Like all the other ways in which we are leading the nation in innovation, Amy’s services are unsurpassed. Hold her advice dear to your heart. I certainly do; her insight lead me to the man I am going to marry.”

Have a great weekend all!

Today’s Match Me To

This just came in anonymously for the Match Me To Wish List…

I would put Ben Rattray at the top of my list! Who wouldn’t want someone like him?! Not only is he cute, he has changed people’s lives for the better. He’s definitely a bright spot in the dark world that we sometimes see on a daily basis. Men like him are rare!” Ben you out there listening? 😉

Today we are grinding through a bunch of new candidate screenings. Yesterday welcomed new intern, Zoe, for the summer. Zoe helped us interview ten new candidates who have submitted information to meet VIPs. Impressive women through and through.

I
t continues to amaze me how everyday I get inquiries coming from the Vanity Fair article. Who would have thought Cougar is so chic and exciting?

I am going to be promoting an invite-only ladies night for complimentary blow-outs, bubbly, mini cupcakes, and conversation soon. Even in hearing that if you want to get on my invite list ping me asap for consideration. Date TBD. August and in Palo Alto. The perfect opportunity to look fab and then head out for girls night or a date.

This Week in Perspective

Honey child, it continues to be non-stop at Linx in Menlo Park. The demand is simply through the roof. The June and July events screening women who want to meet VIPs are already sold out yet that doesn’t stop the emails from pouring in. I get emails daily from fans who have read the Vanity Fair article and so many people interpret it as though I have a weekly happy hour at Rosewood. Sometimes people apologize to me for missing my happy hour. It is hysterical. I’m just enjoying it all and soaking it in!

I know I haven’t done an event in a long time. I would LOVE your thoughts on a fun summer mixer. Do you want me to to host one at our beloved Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel or do you readers have other ideas? I need your input! I am thinking August or early September for this sizzling fun networking event. I haven’t “blasted” my database in a couple of years and now it is way past 20,000 of you locally who subscribe to events and updates. So with that in mind, this event might be seriously packed and oh so fun!

We’re seeing a lot of young professionals applying for memberships. Tons of guys who are in their early to mid 20’s who happen to be extraordinarily successful and mature. Love it. These guys will dabble with online dating but get burned out by the time sink and lack of quality inventory. It can be extremely difficult to locate the dream girl in a sea of thousands on these various sites who meets all the metrics that he desires from: brains, background, looks, personality, religion, etc.

I‘ve gotten word of another Linx couple who is exclusive! He was reticent to do Linx a couple of years ago. For him the timing was off and he wasn’t ready for this investment. As a matchmaker, as much as I want to work with these great sounding guys, if it is not their time, it is not their time. Fast forward a couple of years, it was “his time” to get serious…the so called cab light was on…very bright! Both are early 30-something professionals, both in tech, and share a common bond of having been married once before. To understand one another on a very deep level as such can be the bond that cements two people together. So happy for this new Linx couple.

Word on the street is that another Linx couple is getting some serious bling designed for the big proposal and another engaged couple just bought their first home together! And there is more…another match that is going very strong live in different places in Northern California. When they see one another the sparks fly in all directions….they have fancy meals together, jet around in cars and boats, and then go about their respective lives. Sometimes being apart allows for introspection while respecting one another’s independence. There is something said about really missing one another and being able to have your alone time, thus reflecting on the good. Richard-Lund-hollywood-sign-at-night

We’re interviewing a lot of new clients this week and having a prospect flying in from Las Vegas to meet us as well. There are a lot of LA prospects contacting our offices- quite a few celebs….these folks are humans too who desire love like anyone of us. Sometimes the idea of meeting someone out of Hollywood is a very attractive aspect for those in the middle of Tinseltown.

I‘ve been doing a ton of matchmaking last week and this week. Lots of hopeful new couples in the mix. In the last week, we’ve already been renewing some contracts with clients who have exhausted their set number of matches and wish to renew as they are still searching. People evolve and it can be a process to find “the one.” 820x421

Ladies are you watching ABC’s The Bachelorette? Who are you rooting for? I am bullish on Brooks, Bryden, and James right now. I like how shy Bryden is! I’m liking Des as the Bachelorette. She definitely can hold her own around these hunky guys and seems super chill and down to earth. Love that!
