Twitter commentary from our VIP

One of our Linx VIP guys responded to these tweets from @linxdating yesterday with some irreverent humor. I couldn’t help myself but put these comments up which are too great.

Tweet: Raising capital for startups in Silicon Valley as a female has its +/-. A female entrepreneur told me an investor said things no angel says

His comment: If angels talk to you, you should understand that you are already dead.

Tweet: People often let actions/behavior slide in the honeymoon stage. Deep into the relationship, it isn’t peaches and cream. Too late to reverse

His comment: Actually this is reversed. In the honeymoon stage, people are all peaches and cream. Once they are hooked, then they revert to being themselves.

Tweet: You start a company in Silicon Valley. You do a series A round, a series B, and then a series C … and then discover.. you’re still single.

His comment: By the time you are at a Series C round, you are more diluted than the house bourbon at a third rate bar

Tweet: Cheap in money, can be cheap in spirit when dating.

His comment: Really and that’s not obvious?

Tweet: Be less judgmental when picking and choosing people to date. If you seek perfection, you’re facing a tough road ahead.

His comment: Perfectionists don’t seek perfection, they seek those who are less so, because it allows them to point out all the short-comings of the less-than-perfect.

Tweet: You can’t seek love. It seeks you.

His comment: That’s called stalking and there are laws against such behavior

Tweet: People and culture are the spice of life

His comment: Marines in Afghanistan would probably quarrel with this statement

Tweet: The female career in Silicon Valley often eclipses the man’s in today’s world. If so, make him feel resourceful, useful, masculine, and loved.

His comment: Not exactly, but see Dennis Miller’s famous rant on what men really want from a woman, and only then will you understand why it is true that men and women arrive to earth from different planets.

Tweet: Ice breaker a client who flew in from overseas shared. She has walked up to men on the street & asks ‘Are you thirsty? Let’s have a drink’

His comment: For some reason, the phrase “stranger danger” suddenly comes to mind.

Relationship Wisdom on Twitter and Interpreted through Edward Hopper

I tweet a fair amount. Are you following me on Twitter yet @linxdating?

This week I have been getting a ton of what they call ‘favorites’ and ‘retweets’ by followers…here are some nuggets of wisdom I can share that serve as this weeks highlights.

Hopper’s brilliant work goes far beyond a portrait of a couple on their porch one summer evening. It is really left to your interpretation. As Hoppper himself is famous for saying, “the whole answer is there on the canvas.”

Maybe the man in this painting been cheap in money and spirit…thus she feels isolated and regretful. Perhaps to my earlier Tweet he overlooked certain behaviors of hers as they were once in the honeymoon stage but now their relationship feels too deep to reverse.

When I look at Summer Evening, I feel tension, something quiet, pensive, somber, dark, maybe some boredom. Some have interpreted this painting as a break-up. Oh we don’t like that topic here at Linx. ;( On that note….

Here is a brilliant interpretation made as animated film and directed by Valérie Pirson. This movie was commissioned for an Edward Hopper retrospective at Grand Palais in Paris. Enjoy…

Announcing our latest VIP male!

We are elated to start working with a new male VIP. He has take the time to write this narrative to the Linx female readership with the hopes that one of you might be his dream match. Ladies…this guy is very, *very* handsome.
~
I guess I didn’t picture myself putting my bio out here like this. It feels vulnerable, a little daring, and exposed. Maybe you agree?

A little bit about me. I grew up in New Orleans, and have a super close relationship to my family. Love my adorable nieces, and look up to my parents who have been married for over 45 years with respect and admiration.

Education, integrity, and tenacity, are all mantras in my life. I’m an executive by day and work really hard, but also play hard. I love anything creative and artistic — in fact, I enjoy writing, and have a best-selling book in circulation. I also enjoy photography, and going on photo tours of incredible places. I’m definitely looking for a career driven match, who understands I work a lot, and has her own life, and gets tremendous satisfaction from her awesome job doing whatever you do!149516_501943443782_8117570_n Photo I took in Honduras

I also really need my match to be able to push me intellectually. Smart girls are hot! Bring it on! I graduated from Stanford University with both my undergrad and post grad. Love my Cardinal pride.

At heart, I’m a family man who loves spending time with my parents, siblings, and nieces. I also love dogs (but don’t have one yet). Keeping active and healthy are also important parts of my daily routine. I eat well, enjoy swimming, and being active. I care about looking good for my partner.

My faith is a core tenant in my life. I’m culturally Jewish (more so than the pure religion) and ultimately desire finding a Jewish match as well. I understand that this can wash out some amazing potential matches from the start, but for me this is really important. 36156_501943078782_4948011_n Photo from my travels in Guatemala…unripened oranges

At the end of the day, I’m a really busy guy, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have time for a relationship. In fact, finding my needle in a haystack dream girl is my main priority. If you like what you’ve read here, email Amy Andersen to be considered for a match amy@linxdating.com. I wish you luck on your journey. Thanks for reading.

Love is in the Air

I am off to the airport for a business trip till Friday and look forward to meeting a very successful and eligible gentleman over lunch tomorrow. It’s top secret right now and will remain rather hush hush. It’s to explore potentially working together and seeing if he likes the Linx approach and what we could offer him. I’m super excited! plane+val

This week has been extremely busy per usual. I just wrapped a great date coaching session with a bright and eager young woman. We chatted about artfully preparing for dates and subjects she can discuss with ease and passion. She’s super fascinating- very smart, super well rounded, and very warmhearted. We interviewed a family centric, kind, and super smart 32 year old female yesterday. She splits her time between Manhattan and the Bay Area. Really impressive.

This week the emails have continued to pour in at an astonishing rate. I get hundreds of inquiries day for matchmaking and keeping up with the deluge of requests is a new and fun challenge. The casting we are having in June for females who have submitted information to meet the male VIPs is officially sold out and the casting we are hosting July 11th and 12th is booking up quick.

Next week we have a very handsome VIP male coming on board which I am super jazzed about: CEO, good looking, Ivy educated, and much more. Stay tuned. Do you have have dating or love related questions? Email me at amy@linxdating.com I would love the chance to blog about your question and my response keeping it super anonymous of course.
