Great Cause | Heart of the Silicon Valley Event | October 5th!

Fall is a great time to attend some festive charitable events. I’d like to make you aware of a charity event, Heart of Silicon Valley, on October 5th at beautiful private Portola Valley estate. There will be a few hundred guests from the Peninsula and San Francisco supporting this great cause. Heart of Silicon Valley was created in 2002 as a response to the desire to contribute to our community in a rich and personal way. HOSV raises funds for charitable organizations by bringing people together through concerts at homes around the Peninsula. Each concert raises money for a different charitable organization.

Heart of Silicon Valley has raised more than $2,000,000 to date for local charities and has engaged hundreds of people in support of these organizations. Heart of Silicon Valley provides a means for professionals, philanthropists, musicians, and businesses to work together to give back to our community in a unique and meaningful way.

Besides giving back, this is a great way to meet and mingle with a very friendly crowd of men and women from around the Bay Area. You never know who you might meet and run elbows with.

This Week in Perspective

It has been so busy lately without time to blog practically. Last week I flew in from Asia and was thrown straight into a very cool TV project (details stealth for now) all day last Thursday. 8 people arrived from the production company, office had to be camera ready, and I had to be really ‘on’ (despite jet lag). The first part of filming lasted 2 hours straight on camera no breaks! At this stage I am really comfortable with TV/media so I had a lot of fun with this project. Little time in between and then headed up to San Francisco for more filming with the star of the show. Once I get approval, I can share more about this but let’s just say it is going to be a pretty amazing new show airing shortly (and I will be episode 6 in mid to late Jan 2014 or so).

This week has been really non-stop catching up with current clients, old clients, interviewing new clients, and meetings with prospects. Lots of calls with phenomenal prospects too (some great guys ladies) and matchmaking in between.

Next week we are preparing for a huge week of client interviews and then another series of in-person screenings for women who wish to meet VIPs. We have full and exciting days ahead.

I will say reflecting on my short trip to Hong Kong last week- what a vibrant, dynamic city filled with powerful movers and shakers. I am super familiar now as I go every year (sometimes twice a year). I got to attend a fabulous dinner with Eric Schmidt at The China Club alongside Sir David Tang. The event was to talk about Schmidt’s new book The New Digital Age: Reshaping the Future of People, Nations and Business. Lots of incredible networking amongst the “who’s who” in HK and beyond. Schmidt signed my book “To Amy…from Menlo Park…Thanks…Eric.” My husband made so many great connections on this trip he is flying back in a few weeks. People don’t waste time there getting deals done. When it’s hot, professionals strike and ink deals not wasting a second of precious time.

Tonight and this weekend if you don’t necessarily have dates lined up or major plans who cares. Do something for you. Take a new fitness class you’ve been wanting to try, make a healthy meal, call a friend you haven’t seen in ages for some quality time catching up. If you want to go out with the hopes of meeting someone, don’t place those expectations on yourself. That is what can lead to disappointment. Go out with the attitude of “I’m going to have fun and that is it” and if you happen to rub elbows with a cutie…most excellent. Just be content with YOU and when you are content with yourself and happy in your life that right there is a major attractor. Confidence speaks volume and just being in a good place in your life. So bundle up and do something for you in the days ahead. See what happens.

This Week in Perspective

Linx is just buzzing non-stop with simply incredible eligible men and women writing me. Gorgeous, insanely beautiful women (who happen to be scary smart too) and extremely successful gentlemen (who happen to be down-to-earth, respectful, and kind as well). Our database of eligibles is spilling over. It is great and it is keeping me super crazy busy….round the clock. Love it.

Just got an update from a darling couple that is in Europe together right now on their very first dream vacation as a couple. She’s a family centric and preppy late 20’s dolly type and he’s an uber driven and accomplished 30 something exec.

They make the cutest pair ever and I think what has really worked for them is that while they are both motivated work wise, they are both goofy and able to “just be” after work and really get to know one another. They’re driving all around the Riviera and enjoy the luxe romantic life.

We have another series of days screening many women (and a few guys too) who have submitted info to meet the VIPs this week. We even have women flying in from LA and the East Coast to meet the Linx team. One of my Tweets this week that has gotten a lot of good feedback is meeting ‘the one’ should have you experiencing a feeling of being short of breath, a fire where you know you’re in the game. Have you had that feeling? Being so completely excited, nervous, elated, and overcome with emotion about someone you just met? If you haven’t felt that before, it is only a matter of time. Stop being hard on yourself. Open yourself up to new possibilities. Let your guard down. Be friendly to everyone you meet in your daily life. Announce to the world you are ready to fall in love with open arms!

My husband and I had the pleasure of attending a dinner party for such a lovely Linx couple this past weekend. They were married last year and are now moving to Southern California. Sniff Sniff. They are so crazy in love and excited for this new journey and chapter in their life. She is going to manage the household, furnish the stunning beachfront home, and take care of her true love. They are such advocates of using a matchmaking firm it puts the hugest smile on my face. Although they won’t be neighbors anymore and I don’t get to see them as often as I did, we have an invite to stay at their new home. Start tomorrow with new possibilities and an outlook that love is possible for those who truly want it.

New VIP Search for a CEO in Silicon Valley

We have just embarked on a new VIP search at Linx. We are representing a late 40’s confident and entrepreneurial CEO in the Valley who exemplifies the caliber we love working with at Linx. In fact maybe she has a child of her own and/or would love a baby! A household of rugrats running around, backyard BBQs, sleepovers, popsicle stains, and laughter…bring it on!

This VIP desires a woman who is in her early 30’s to 40-ish. She is a Caucasian, Asian American, or of Mixed heritage. She is a natural beauty and keeping extraordinarily healthy.
