Fun Celebrity Matches by Linx!

TheNest.com (the sister site to The Knot for newlyweds) approached me to come up with the best matches for some of Hollywood’s hottest single celebs like Johnny Depp, Rihanna, etc. They choose a couple of my matches for the story on TheNest.com and the rest I thought I would put up here so you can read about some of my fun celeb match ideas and why!

Jessica Chastain

Although Chastain has said in the past that she doesn’t date actors, that doesn’t mean she wouldn’t. I chose Aaron Eckhart, who, like Chastain, seems more into his craft than fame and has proven his talent in indies like Thank You for Smoking and blockbusters like Batman, could be the exception to the red-headed starlet’s rule. Jessica is an actress of great depths and attended Juilliard, so I think Eckhart would make a strong match for her. With an old soul like Chastain, the age gap works in Eckhart’s favor, too (she’s 36 and he’s 45). Fun fact, they’re both Bay Area, CA natives (her Sacramento and him Cupertino). Pretty picture perfect next to one another too don’t you think? F118045250194E729915F3597E6FCA0E

Ryan Seacrest

Although Julianne Hough and Ryan Seacrest’s breakup seemed to catch even the love pros by surprise, I think Hollywood’s hardest working man needs someone a little older. Julianne Hough is 24 years old and Ryan is 38 years old. I would match him with January Jones, who’s 35, blond (which he seems to go for) and seems very classy. Come to think of it, Jones and Hough kind of look like they could be related…perhaps a good evolution in his dating. 2DB58AB4193540B7ADAAE21B1329B81D

Prince Harry

He needs someone who completely understands his royal obligations, is extremely poised, classy, and with an impeccable track record. She needs to have strong family values and be someone to shape Prince Harry into the marrying type versus the party boy image. A great match would be Charlotte Casiraghi who is 26 years old. This beauty is fourth in line to the throne of Monaco. Her maternal grandparents were Rainier III, Prince of Monaco, and Grace Kelly. She also is the official equestrian “ambassador” of Gucci. Prince Harry and Charlotte would not only share the similar royal family background, be close in age, but also a lovely common passion of all things equestrian. harrycharlotte

Katie Holmes

Katie needs to step out of the Hollywood scene for dating and date a strong leading man who is not only deep and intellectual but very cute (and frankly a better age compared to her ex Tom). Uber entrepreneur extraordinaire Jack Dorsey founder of Twitter and Square would make a great match for Katie. They both seem approachable and what is so nice is that there would always be tons to talk about considering they are in completely different industries. They’re also a good age- she’s 34 and he’s 36. She already has the child and most likely he would appreciate that biological pressure being removed so they can really enjoy getting to know one another. Certainly if they did have children together, their babies would be gorgeous and smart to boot! KatieJack

Honey child, it continues to be non-stop at Linx in Menlo Park. The demand is simply through the roof. The June and July events screening women who want to meet VIPs are already sold out yet that doesn’t stop the emails from pouring in. I get emails daily from fans who have read the Vanity Fair article and so many people interpret it as though I have a weekly happy hour at Rosewood. Sometimes people apologize to me for missing my happy hour. It is hysterical. I’m just enjoying it all and soaking it in!

I know I haven’t done an event in a long time. I would LOVE your thoughts on a fun summer mixer. Do you want me to to host one at our beloved Rosewood Sand Hill Hotel or do you readers have other ideas? I need your input! I am thinking August or early September for this sizzling fun networking event. I haven’t “blasted” my database in a couple of years and now it is way past 20,000 of you locally who subscribe to events and updates. So with that in mind, this event might be seriously packed and oh so fun!

We’re seeing a lot of young professionals applying for memberships. Tons of guys who are in their early to mid 20’s who happen to be extraordinarily successful and mature. Love it. These guys will dabble with online dating but get burned out by the time sink and lack of quality inventory. It can be extremely difficult to locate the dream girl in a sea of thousands on these various sites who meets all the metrics that he desires from: brains, background, looks, personality, religion, etc.

I‘ve gotten word of another Linx couple who is exclusive! He was reticent to do Linx a couple of years ago. For him the timing was off and he wasn’t ready for this investment. As a matchmaker, as much as I want to work with these great sounding guys, if it is not their time, it is not their time. Fast forward a couple of years, it was “his time” to get serious…the so called cab light was on…very bright! Both are early 30-something professionals, both in tech, and share a common bond of having been married once before. To understand one another on a very deep level as such can be the bond that cements two people together. So happy for this new Linx couple.

Word on the street is that another Linx couple is getting some serious bling designed for the big proposal and another engaged couple just bought their first home together! And there is more…another match that is going very strong live in different places in Northern California. When they see one another the sparks fly in all directions….they have fancy meals together, jet around in cars and boats, and then go about their respective lives. Sometimes being apart allows for introspection while respecting one another’s independence. There is something said about really missing one another and being able to have your alone time, thus reflecting on the good. Richard-Lund-hollywood-sign-at-night

We’re interviewing a lot of new clients this week and having a prospect flying in from Las Vegas to meet us as well. There are a lot of LA prospects contacting our offices- quite a few celebs….these folks are humans too who desire love like anyone of us. Sometimes the idea of meeting someone out of Hollywood is a very attractive aspect for those in the middle of Tinseltown.

I‘ve been doing a ton of matchmaking last week and this week. Lots of hopeful new couples in the mix. In the last week, we’ve already been renewing some contracts with clients who have exhausted their set number of matches and wish to renew as they are still searching. People evolve and it can be a process to find “the one.” 820x421

Ladies are you watching ABC’s The Bachelorette? Who are you rooting for? I am bullish on Brooks, Bryden, and James right now. I like how shy Bryden is! I’m liking Des as the Bachelorette. She definitely can hold her own around these hunky guys and seems super chill and down to earth. Love that!

This Week in Perspective

Holy moly….it has been non-stop here…been a little delinquent in my regular blogging. The phone is ringing off the hook, we’ve seen tons of clients and prospects at the office this week, and heard some great news about some of our couples…getting engaged in the near future and others… the faint sound of wedding bells in the distance with the wedding date set!

I‘ve had the pleasure of meeting some total dynamo new clients this week and prospects who are soon to be new clients. One prospect brought a lovely bottle of wine sharing that she felt she was arriving to “my house” and thus a little hostess gift. Sweet, thoughtful, and kind….

The energy around here is enthusiast, vibrant, and super positive. Linx clients are feeling energized and it seems like readier than ever to find love this summer. We are experiencing a high volume of women applying for memberships and have instated a wait list as such for new premium female clientele for a few months so we can focus on our current client base. The good news is lots of uber desirable men are knocking on our doors. A surge in quite attractive, mid  to late 40’s, very successful, and divorcees seem to be a current trend. That demographic makes a great new member at Linx for us! His blueprint is that of family and marriage. He’s been there before and desires that again! The Silicon Valley remains a hot spot (despite lots talking about an exodus of people/companies heading from the Valley to San Francisco for living/positioning company headquarters there very reminiscence of the dot com boom) and I am contacted nearly every single day by production companies in LA to discuss my own TV show. I’m not saying never. I’m not saying yes either.

Is the Silicon Valley becoming the new Hollywood 3.0? Look at what the talented Randi Zuckerberg is doing with her production company Zuckerberg Media. Do you think Hollywood should infiltrate Silicon Valley? What becomes too much at a certain point?

I always learn so much from my clients. Sometimes I hear really depressing stories about my clients lives, other times stories that are completely inspiring. In one day it can go from a meeting starting with clients eyes welling up in tears speaking about their past, to another meeting filled with excitement and jitters about finding a new love.

My days are spent doing a lot of listening and trying to always be as empathetic as I can. It helps having gone through “crap” in my time and working a lot to further enhance my emotional intelligence. From commitment phobes, to cheaters, to plain mean jerks…I’ve experienced a lot in my many relationships prior to my marriage.  Of course, there have been some truly amazing good, genuine guys I’ve called boyfriends in between the occasional naughty black sheep. Relating to my clients and in many cases having been in “their shoes” makes this process much more understandable for me and comfortable for my clients. They like that I “get them” and that the Linx process is approachable and relatable.

One of our new Linx members wrote me something today after our client interview, “thanks so much for taking the time to get a good read on me. Your powers of perception leave me in awe.”

We have a very busy next week with a sold out casting screening women for our clients and a photo-shoot taking place for a European magazine (equivalent of Elle). The photog is flying up from LA on Weds so if you happen to be around University Avenue in Palo Alto, I will be there somewhere with him getting shots of quintessential Silicon Valley. Lol. Never a dull moment in the world of Silicon Valley’s matchmaker.
